Brand New 85Ah Sealed Vented Lead Acid Battery
The Technology – Sterling’s high integrity Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) batteries operate as a starved electrolyte system. The electrolyte is limited to the amount that either is absorbed in the battery plates or wets the fibres in the separator. The resulting system allows gases produced during overcharge to diffuse from one plate to the other and to be recombined back into the electrolyte.
This recombination creates a closed system, thus reducing the release of gases into the atmosphere under normal discharge conditions.
Since the electrolyte is recycled, there is no need to add water to the batteries. This reduced maintenance leads to a longer life battery in a clean and compact container that can be installed when flooded batteries are impractical.
|Nominal Capacity||85Ah (20 hour rate)|
|Nominal Voltage||12 volt|
Features & Benefits
Tank formed construction allows for individual plates to be inspected prior to battery assembly, eliminating manufacturing defects. Plates are fully formed guaranteeing 100% capacity on delivery.
Sterling’s unique construction and sealing techniques ensures no electrolyte leakage from case or terminals, allowing batteries to be positioned on their side.
Excellent recovery from deep discharge.
Low self discharge – approx 3% per month.
Not restricted for air transport – complies with IATA ICAO special provision A67.
Impact resistant ABS case and cover.
Industry standard footprints for easy field replacement.
Charging: (25°C / 77°F)
Standby use: Float charging voltage 13.50V to 13.80V.
Top up charge: Product in storage (ambient temperature) requires a top up charge every 6 months. Apply constant voltage at 2.40 volts per cell, initial charging current should be set at less than 0.1 CA for 15 to 20 hours.
A solar charger gathers energy from your solar panels, and stores it in your batteries. Using the latest, fastest technology, SmartSolar maximises this energy-harvest, driving it intelligently to achieve full charge in the shortest possible time. SmartSolar maintains battery health, extending its life.
MPPT: Ultra Fast Maximum Power Point Tracking
By constantly monitoring the voltage and current output of your solar (PV) panels, MPPT technology ensures that every drop of available power is rinsed out of your panels, and harvested for storage. The advantage of this is most noticeable when the sky is partially clouded, and light intensity is constantly changing.
Remote Monitoring and Control
Remotely control and monitor the extensive features of your SmartSolar MPPT charger with built-in bluetooth by pairing it with your smartphone or other device via VictronConnect. If your installation is connected to the internet Victron Remote Management Portal (VRM) provides access to the full power of your MPPT, anytime, anywhere; both services are free to use. For remote installations - even when there is no internet connection or phone signal nearby - you may be able to monitor your MPPT by bluetooth-pairing with a LoRaWAN (long-range wide area network) device, available optionally.
The intelligent Load output function prevents damage caused by running batteries 'flat'. You can configure the voltage at which SmartSolar disconnects a load - thereby preventing excessive drain on your batteries. And here's the clever bit: SmartSolar will attempt a 100% recharge every day. If it can't - during periods of poor weather - it raises the disconnect voltage, daily, until it achieves success. We call this feature BatteryLife because it maintains the health, and extends the life of your battery.
Bimble Solar 150W Mono Panel - Most suitable for Ctek and PWM charge controllers
150W power, great for smaller applications and lighting. These are 12V panels so you can use with PWM controllers to make a very cheap system.
This panel can be used with Victron or Epever MPPT charge controllers if 2 or more panels are connected in series due to the VMPPT panel voltage. One panel is series not adequate and not recommend in this context. Contact us for clarity if in doubt.
Size: 1325 x 680 x 30 mm
As these are small panels we use standard couriers - delivery is cheaper.

Ready assembled kit with a 6 + 1 metre pre-assembled heavy duty wiring harness with twin fuses. The kit is manufactured using 2 x midi fuse holders & 16mm2 / #6 AWG heavy duty extra flexible battery cable.
Very simple to install, does not require a connection to vehicle alternator
Fully epoxy sealed unit for years of trouble free service
Only 3 Connections to make
Power in, Power out & negative...that's it!
The idea of a "voltage sensitive relay" (VSR) or "voltage controlled relay" (VCR) as they are sometimes known, is to simplify the installation, no connection is made to the vehicles alternator .
Simply connect this relay to the towing vehicles positive battery terminal (via a fuse!) and link to the leisure battery
The relay monitors the towing vehicles battery voltage and when it reaches 13.3vdc, the relay switches on and supplies charging current to the aux. circuits. When the engine is stopped and the voltage of the vehicles main battery drops below 12.8vdc the unit switches off.
Only 3 connections are required to the unit and as such it can be fitted in next to no time .
Supplied with detailed full colour instructions.
Switch on voltage 13.7vdc
Switch off voltage 12.7vdc
Dimensions:-65 x 65 x 53mm
Relay connections:- 2 x 6mm studs for power in and out. 1 x 450mm cable for negative
Please Note: Do not use on Euro V/VI engines, or engines with smart alternators or regenerative brakes. These newer systems do not give a constant voltage and are not suitable for this split charge relay, please use this instead Programmable relay
Fixes without screwing holes in your roof!
Set of seven black solar panel mounting kit, including 6 brackets (4 courners and 2 sides) and cable gland. They are ideal for fixing our solar panels to any vehicle, caravan, boat, barge or even outbuildings and sheds to provide a strong, secure and aesthetically pleasing fixing method, the mounts will support the solar panel at the correct height above the surface to enable the flow of air underneath the panel and keep it cool, ensuring the solar panel functions at it's optimum. The mounts can be safely bonded to the surface removing the need to drill holes. The panel is secured by screwing or bolting it to the mounting corner, but the corner itself can be fixed with a good strong adhesive like 'Sikaflex' or 'CT1' or any polyurethane sealant to the roof. (Ensure the roof is clean and dry before attaching. If a painted roof ensure the paint is not flakey)
ABS mounts raise the panel by 25mm. Edge of panel to edge of ABS is 55mm.
We sell CT1 which is great for sticking these down, please see related products tab for different colours avaialble.
If you are fitting to a vehicle we recommend that you additionally bolt or screw the panel and mounting down as well, as the strength of these systems is only as strong as the roof type or paint on your roof!
