Victron Multiplus II 12V, 2.4kW inverter/charger for use off grid on or on grid with 120A AC - DC Charger

The MultiPlus-II combines the functions of the MultiPlus and the MultiGrid.
It has all the features of the MultiPlus, plus an external current transformer option to implement PowerControl and PowerAssist and to optimize self-consumption with external current sensing (max. 32A).  It also has all the features of the MultiGrid with built-in anti-islanding and an increasingly long list of country approvals.

PowerAssist

The MultiPlus-II will prevent overload of a limited AC source, such as a generator or shore power connection. First, battery charging will automatically be reduced when otherwise an overload would occur. The second level will boost the output of a generator or shore side supply with power taken from the battery.

ESS: Energy Storage Systems

The MultiPlus-II is the key component in a Victron ESS system, providing the flexibility to combine with MPPT Solar Chargers or Grid-tie PV Inverters. For examples and more detailed information see the ESS (Energy Storage System) manual.

Uninterrupted AC power (UPS function)

In the event of a grid failure, or when shore or generator power is disconnected, the inverter within the Multi is automatically activated and takes over the supply to the connected loads. This happens so fast (less than 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronic equipment will continue to operate without disruption.

Remote Monitoring and Control

Monitor and control your Multi and system or systems' locally (LAN) or remotely via the internet from anywhere in the world, using the free VRM app and free VRM portal website. Access can be from a phone, tablet, laptop or PC for multiple operating systems. The Lynx Distributor contains a positive and a negative busbar. The positive busbar has four fuse-protected connections with fuse monitoring. The negative busbar has four connections and a ground connection. It is part of the Lynx Distribution system and is available in two versions, with M8 or M10 busbar. Note that M10 refers to the busbar connection joints where the modules are connected to each other. The fuse and cable connections are always M8. The Lynx Distributor has a power LED and four fuse status indication LEDs. If connected to a Lynx Smart BMS, up to 4 Lynx Distributors can send fuse status information to the Lynx Smart BMS. This feature is not available when connected to a Lynx Shunt VE.Can.

A solar charger gathers energy from your solar panels, and stores it in your batteries. Using the latest, fastest technology, SmartSolar maximises this energy-harvest, driving it intelligently to achieve full charge in the shortest possible time. SmartSolar maintains battery health, extending its life.

The SmartSolar charge controller will even recharge a severely depleted battery. It can operate with a battery voltage as low as 0 Volts, provided the cells are not permanently sulphated or otherwise damaged.

MPPT: Ultra Fast Maximum Power Point Tracking

The Smart Battery Shunt

The SmartShunt is an all in one battery monitor, only without a display. Your phone acts as the display. The SmartShunt connects via Bluetooth to the VictronConnect App on your phone (or tablet) and you can conveniently read out all monitored battery parameters, like state of charge, time to go, historical information and much more.

Alternatively the SmartShunt can be connected and be read by a GX device. Connection to the SmartShunt is made via a VE.Direct cable.

The SmartShunt is a good alternative for a BMV battery monitor, especially for systems where battery monitoring is needed but less wiring and clutter is wanted.
The SmartShunt is equipped with Bluetooth, a VE.Direct port and a connection that can be used for: monitoring a second battery, midpoint monitoring or a temperature sensor.

This unit has M10 bolts.

**Please note: these fuse holders are designed to be opened in a specific way (see attached diagram in downloads section for guidance). Failure to follow the correct method will result in damage to the fuse holder, which is not covered by warranty.**

Victron MK3-USB Configuration Interface

The MK3-USB allows the following products to connect to a computer for configuration and firmware updates using the Victron VE Configure software

Multi, MultiGrid, MultiPlus, MultiPlus-II, Quattro, Inverter/Charger settings in ECOmulti, EasySolar, EasyPlus, and other Inverters with a VE.Bus communication port.

Counsider purchasing a Cat 5 ethernet cable to go with this product if you don't already have one. You won't be able to connect the MK3 interface to an inverter product without an ethernet cable.

Unit best used for housing 1 x AC RCBos, string fuse holders and fuses up to 32a as opposed to DC Din Mount breakers.

Best practice would be to use this unit with no bigger than 6mm square cable and appropriately sized breakers if you are using it with glands for a water tight fit.  If you are using it in an environment that is already dry and dust free the use of glands may not be necessary.
