The VE.Direct cable used for comunication between Victron VE.Direct devices, it's also used to connect a Victron battery monitor, smart or MPPT charge controller to a Victron Colour Control, Cerbo or Venus GX.

The cable with right angle one side is suited to where the battery monitor wall mount box is being use (or other tight application) as there is limited clearance space in the rear of the box and therefore the right angle cable fits in the rear of the battery monitor display.
